Research notes

[3 Aug 2026, SRC-203/DOC-0169] Cut from PAR-000134 in 1990, transferred on deed 53115/91. Its neighbour list is the useful part: RIETFONTEIN NR 12 (Gedeelte 1 and Restant), ANTJES FONTEIN NR 14, SPREEUW FONTEIN NR 26, LEEUKRAAL 24 and GEDEELTE 1 VAN ZEEKOEGAT NR 22. These 1990-2018 consolidations are the MODERN successors of farms this project tracks. They are recorded because they say where the old farms went and because their neighbour lists corroborate our own; they are not themselves part of the family story.

[13 Aug 2026, SRC-436] NAMED FROM THE 2023 VALUATION ROLL, which gives this portion as "Waterval" (5445.7440 ha). This row previously read "Farm 215 Portion 1", which was a farm-and-portion label rather than a name. The roll is a rates document and good evidence for what the ground is called now; it says nothing about what it was called when the portion was cut.

The research behind this page, kept separate from it: dated working notes, open questions, and what is not yet settled.

What the record is missing

Found by breaks.py reading the model against itself, not written by hand, each one is a shape of missing record, not a fault in the data. The whole set is on the questions page.
