Research notes
Klaare Stroom loan farm, 1833 [floruit] Named on SG diagram 350/1833 (DOC-0189): the loan farm Klaare Stroom with its annexed Government ground, 6498 morgen, 'Surveyed for the Widow Du PreH', C. Lennox Stretch, August 1833. She held the ground EIGHT YEARS BEFORE the 15 April 1841 grant that this project has treated as the farm's beginning. A widow, so a husband held it before her and is not named on the sheet. No forename, no dates: the diagram gives a status and a surname and this row does not invent the rest. [TO VERIFY] against the opgaafrolle and the quitrent register.
These are working notes, not finished prose: they carry the reasoning, the corrections and the things still marked to verify. They are kept here so the page itself can read as what is known.
