A DIRECT ANCESTOR OF OCKERT ALMERO OOSTHUIZEN, and so of the whole Karoo line this project follows. The descent runs Catharina van MalabarH -> her daughter Cornelia Cornelisse ClaaszH -> Catharina Bastijaans PylM (PER-000768, already held here) -> Dina Carolina Brits -> Ockert Almero OosthuizenL (PER-000001). The model has held the third and fourth links since July 2026 and simply stopped one generation short of her. She was named in the Cape manner for enslaved and free-black people, by the coast she was taken from rather than by a family name. She is recorded with several partners over her life - Cornelis Claasen, Gabriel Joosten, Andries Voormeester - which is itself a fact about how little control she had over her own household. NO PLACE IS ASSERTED HERE. The private tree gives a birthplace, but this project treats the tree's place strings as hostile and they are least reliable exactly where they matter most - on people carried across an ocean. The toponym in the NAME is what the Cape record itself used and is recorded as written. VERIFICATION ROUTE: the First Fifty Years project, which transcribes the Cape records of 1652 onward and documents enslaved and free-black people rather than only settlers. From the family views Frans sent, which show THREE unions and match this project's own table exactly: Gabriel Joosten Cornet (GJTC-XHT), a common-law marriage about 1662 at Cape Town, three children - Louwijs van de Caep (GG9M-FLW, 1663), Adriaantje Gabrielsz (LY5M-9YK, 1664-1720) and ANTHONIJ VAN DE CAEP (LKG1-XDC, 1665); then Cornelis Claesz 'Kees de Boer' (GKRJ-FF1, 1630-1688), married 15 March 1676, seven children; then Andries Voormeester (G6HX-LJF, 1640-1713), married 31 July 1688. DATES DISAGREE AND BOTH ARE KEPT: this model has 1637~-1707, FamilySearch has 1637-1703. [TO VERIFY] WARNING AGAINST A CONFLATION THAT WILL BE TEMPTING: her son ANTHONIJ VAN DE CAEP, baptised 1665, IS NOT the Anthony van de KaapM (PER-000307) listed as an enslaved man in the 1802 inventory [SRC-093]. Same name form, same family orbit, one hundred and thirty-seven years apart. 'Van de Kaap' means born here, into it, and it was written on many people.

Eleven people at the head of this family — the ten of S021 plus Catharina van PalliacattaM — and the one enslaved man in the family's own estate papers carry no FamilySearch id between them. Which of them have profiles, and what are the ids?

What would settle it An id per person, or a recorded finding that no profile exists.

Eight of S021's ten have no recorded child in this model, so the site names a descent it cannot walk. The private tree holds every chain. Importing them means about fifty new person rows across the de Wet, Mocke, Duminy, Snyman, van Dyk, Janse van Vuuren, Smuts and du Preez lines. Is that in scope?
