Research notes

[3 Aug 2026, SRC-201] A 1984 CONSOLIDATION (LG 864-84, approved 7 March 1984, J.K. Maree) of two things: the REMAINDER OF PORTION 9 (QUAGGAS POEL) OF KLIPGAT NO. 114 - our PAR-000112 - and THE FARM VOELFONTEIN NO. 117, an older farm off diagram 1336/61 with title 1904-45594. So this row is the modern successor that absorbed a Klipgat portion this project was already tracking, and it is what finally places Quaggas Poel on the ground. [5 Aug 2026] THE AREA DISAGREEMENT IS RESOLVED, AND THERE WAS NEVER 772 HA IN QUESTION. This note read: the diagram states 3 793,9051 ha and 'the cadastre publishes VOELFONTEIN 213 at 4 566,1 ha - 772 ha, about 20%, apart', with ground possibly added after 1984. 4 566,1 ha is GEOM_AREA/10 000, the field found on 5 Aug 2026 to be inflated by 1/cos(lat) on 429 records. The drawn polygon is 3 815,4 ha (Shape_Area), which sg_area_ha now carries, and the 1984 consolidation diagram's 3 793,9051 ha sits 0.6% under it. The diagram and the ground agree. No ground was added to 213 and the consolidation was not amended. Neighbours named on sheet 2, clockwise: Ged. 8 (Bontwater) van Klipgat 114; Wolwe Kraal 17 Ged. 4; Ged. 2 van Cyferfontein 115; Ged. 1 Doornkraal 116; Ged. 4 van Doornkraal 116; Ged. 6 van van Aardsfontein 109; Ged. 6 (Nieuwe Dam) van Klipgat 114; Restant Ged. 4 (River Vale) van Klipgat 114; Ged. 15 van Klipgat 114; Ged. 1 (Zout Water) van Klipgat 114. SEVEN of those ten are parcels this project already holds.

What the record is missing

Found by breaks.py reading the model against itself, not written by hand, each one is a shape of missing record, not a fault in the data. The whole set is on the questions page.
