THE RECORD THAT PUTS THIS FAMILY BEHIND THE SNEEUBERGE, and it is the answer to the geography objection in LEAD-0182. First asset, verbatim: 'Een opstal staande op de LENINGS PLAATS gen:t DE GROOTE DAM geleegen AGTER DE SNEEUWBERGEN', valued 333 Rd:s 16. The husband's own list (50.96b) repeats it as 'Een opstal op de leenings plaats genaamd de Groote Dam geleegen agter Sneeuwberg', with 41 trek oxen, 1700 aanteel schaapen, 4 geldings and 2 mares, two half-worn wagons, six firearms and two millstones with their spindle. THE PEOPLE: Johanna Petronella Oosthuijsen, died ab intestato; her husband the landbouwer RUDOLPH JOHANNES BRITS; six children - Johannes Jacobus Freedrik 12, Rudolph Marth:s 11, Johannes Jacob 7, Gerrit Cornelis 3, Johanna Petronella 2, Willem Maartens Brits 1. Inventoried by the landbouwers Deobald Hatting and Johannes Meijntjes van der Berg. WHY IT MATTERS: the private tree holds JOHANNA PETRONELLA OOSTHUIZEN, born 21 March 1762, died about 1792, place given as 'Groote Dam' - and she is a DAUGHTER OF JAN HENDRIK OOSTHUIZEN AND ANNA BOTHA, the couple of SRC-432. Name, year and farm agree independently. SO THE FAMILY WAS ON THE SNEEUBERG FRONTIER BY 1792, whatever their children's baptismal places say. The Paarl and Wellington entries are where children were born between 1736 and 1762; the ground they held afterwards is 700 km away. That is the ordinary trekboer pattern and it is exactly what 5 warns a static place string will hide. SCOPE: this is 200 km from Klaarstroom and it is NOT this district. It is recorded as migration-layer evidence under 9a - the head of a trail gets a bounded set of records and is not grown. Do not follow the Brits family outward.
