The citation as it was given

TRANSCRIPTION. Entry 4: "Augusta Cornelia, Geb: 20 Augustus 1866. Ouders: Christiaan Petrus Neser, Johanna Catharina Joubert. Getuige: Henning Johannes Joubert, Adriana Joubert, Frederik Wilhelm Cornelius Neser." THREE WITNESSES, ALL OF THEM KIN BY THEIR NAMES: two Jouberts for her mother and a Neser for her father. Neither identified. THE SAME MINISTER MARRIED HER. A. D. Luckhoff baptised her at Colesberg in October 1866 and married her at Venterstad in February 1895 (SRC-396), twenty-eight years and about 120 km apart. Worth noticing before either signature is used to date anything. The register confirms the birth date FamilySearch carries for GCKK-SBY to the day.

Kept verbatim. This project contradicts published genealogies and corrects a family's own oral tradition, so every claim has to be checkable by someone who was not in the room.
