The citation as it was given
TRANSCRIPTION: "The above Figure a to f represents the Crown Land Farm called Lot B Alewyns Berg containing 1861 Morgen 273 Square Roods of Land, situate in the Division of CALVINIA, Field-cornetcy of North Onder Bokkeveld. and Bounded N. by Plaat Fontein Extension, N.W. by Brak Laagte, S.W. by Dwars Pad, S. by Alewyns Berg Extension, E. by Driekop. Roads and Water-runs sketched Burnt Sienna and Blue. Beacons pointed out to Fld. Ct. J.A. Nieuwoudt, S.V. van Breda & J. Poole. Surveyed by me, (Sgd.) Wm. de Smidt Junr. G.S." Examiner L. Marquard. Area in English measure 3939.84 acres. The face marks a beacon or hill lettered 'Alewyns Berg' inside the figure, and names Lot 9, the Zoetlands River and Zoetwater Extension around it.
Kept verbatim. This project contradicts published genealogies and corrects a family's own oral tradition, so every claim has to be checkable by someone who was not in the room.
