AANGENOMEN (received into membership): ZARA PETRONELLA BOTES, gehuwd Olivier, 15 Maart 1855. VAN ELDERS AANGEKOMEN (transferred in): Gerrit Petrus Nel, Maria Francina Nel, Hans Lodewyk Steyl, Johanna Louisa van de Vyver, Stephanus Petrus de Wit, Jan Abraham Nel, Jacobus Marthinus Crafford, Jeanetta Christina Susanna Fourie, 'allen van de Gemeente Ladysmith'. GESTORVEN (died): Sophia Maria de Wit geb. Matthingh; Izaak Daniel de Vries; Andries Jonathan Fourie Senr; Josef Marthinus le Grange Senr; HENDRIK WILLEM STORM SENR; Franciscus Fredericus Muller Senr. WHY IT MATTERS HERE: it is the first record in this project's hands that places HENDRIK WILLEM STORM in the Prins Albert congregation, and it records his death in the church year 1854-1855 - which agrees with the 19 August 1855 that FamilySearch gives him. Not a date, a church year, but the same year and the same place. 'SENR' IS THE DETAIL WORTH KEEPING. Four of the six dead carry it. It is only written when there is a junior of the same name to distinguish him from, so a HENDRIK WILLEM STORM JUNIOR existed at Prins Albert in 1855. The private tree holds a Hendrik Willem Storm born 13 May 1854, died 1924 - born the year before this death. Whether that is the junior, and how he relates, is open. A BOTES IN THE SAME YEAR'S LIST, Zara Petronella, received into membership six months before Storm's death. The Botes and the Storms marry each other in these families.
