The citation as it was given

THE MOOC CORPUS, OFFLINE-SEARCHABLE AND CC0. Cloned and indexed 30 Jul 2026: 749 inventories mention our target surnames (Oosthuizen 264 hits, Venter 583, Swanepoel 224, Roux, Mocke 45, Theron, Strydom, Conradie, Calitz). All five archive refs we hold (MOOC8/64.12a, 38.12, 40.55, 28.63, 24.27) are present - the corpus confirms our transcription source and supersedes the unstable tanap.net. CC0 licence means transcription excerpts are republishable on the site. Access: git clone the repo; inventories delimited by "## MOOC8/n.n" headers. | [5 Aug 2026] The file field carried a trailing gloss, '(our index of family-line hits)', which made the path unresolvable to anything that stats it even though the CSV has been on disk since 30 July. The gloss is what this file is: our index of family-line hits across the corpus. It belongs here, not in a path.

Kept verbatim. This project contradicts published genealogies and corrects a family's own oral tradition, so every claim has to be checkable by someone who was not in the room.
