Person PER-001517

Willem Storm

No dates recorded · Storm line

No birth date is recorded for this person. The family puts an outer limit on it: born no later than 1741, because their child born 1757, so at least 16 years earlier. That is a hard limit, it cannot be otherwise. It is an upper bound and not a birth year, and nothing in the model records it as one.

Research notes

[FS PH3F-TWN] THE ARRIVAL, or the generation before it. Married NEELTJIE HOOGENDIJK at LEIDEN, SOUTH HOLLAND, on 15 NOVEMBER 1754 [FS] - so this branch of the Storms was still in the Netherlands in the 1750s. Four children: Johanna Sara 1755 (PHJJ-4Y5), Hendrik 1757 (G4W6-B5R), Jacobus (PHJF-VTR), Petrus (PH86-6RP). His son married at Cape Town in 1797, so the family crossed between 1757 and 1797. IN SCOPE UNDER 9a AS AN ARRIVAL QUESTION, not as kin: the Storms are affinal to this family through the Niehaus-Zulch marriage, and the oldest grave on Varsche Fontein reads B. STORM 1848. LEAD-0124.

These are working notes, not finished prose: they carry the reasoning, the corrections and the things still marked to verify. They are kept here so the page itself can read as what is known.
