Research notes

[FS, from FamilySearch profiles supplied by the family 3 Aug 2026] THE MINNE PROGENITOR AT THE CAPE, and he is German, not Dutch or French: born about 1720 at PADERBORN, WESTPHALIA, PRUSSIA, son of Dirk Menne and Christjin Helbeck. Married Christina Scheepers at PAARL on 2 June 1743 and was dead before 2 January 1752 - eight or nine years in the colony. Four children are recorded. The surname is worth watching in this project because a farm in the Prince Albert district is called MINNIES KRAAL (PAR-000138).

These are working notes, not finished prose: they carry the reasoning, the corrections and the things still marked to verify. They are kept here so the page itself can read as what is known.
