Research notes
[SRC-072] The thesis's principal oral informant, interviewed 1998 and 2002. Grew up on Botterkraal; married Joseph Willem van Eck at Prince Albert 25 Jun 1940 and was a widow at 26 when he died in a harvester accident on 11 Apr 1944, with a daughter of two and a baby of one month. Almost everything in the model about daily life at Botterkraal and Zeekoegat comes from her.
These are working notes, not finished prose: they carry the reasoning, the corrections and the things still marked to verify. They are kept here so the page itself can read as what is known.
