Research notes

[SRC-072] Third wife of PER-000083, married Beaufort West 29 Apr 1844 aged 18 to a 44-year-old widower of Rietkuil - instantly stepmother to children her own age. Buried at Vliegekraal (PAR-000060), where her headstone gives 21 Sep 1825 - 28 Dec 1894 (her death notice says 26 Dec). PS480 in cash was found in the house after she died: people still kept their savings at home, though Prince Albert had had a Standard Bank branch since 1879. family-tree PLACE ERROR: the tree puts her death at "Vliegekraal, WOLMARANSSTAD, Transvaal" - Vliegekraal No. 89 is on the Prince Albert-Willowmore road.

30 Jul 2026 [SRC-134] Heir 4 in her father's Rondavel estate inventory (MOOC8/44.48): born 21 Sep 1825, exact match to her Vliegekraal headstone. Her father Jan Adriaan VenterL (PER-000350) died on Rondavel when she was three; her mother was the root couple's sister - the 18-year-old bride of 1844 was Adriana Cecilia VenterM's niece.

These are working notes, not finished prose: they carry the reasoning, the corrections and the things still marked to verify. They are kept here so the page itself can read as what is known.
