Settles at Drakenstein on the immigrant terms

1691 · family · Drakenstein

[SRC-097] SAG has him established at DRAKENSTEIN in 1691 as a free immigrant on the same conditions offered to the French Huguenots: SIXTY MORGEN RENT-FREE, passage paid, on condition that all produce - wheat, vegetables, wine - was sold to the Company, and that he stayed at least five years. So the family's own '1691' and the muster's '1690' are not in conflict at all: burgher in August 1690, on the ground in 1691. The Huguenot terms are not yet verified for him personally [TO VERIFY].
