Botterkraal sold, mineral rights held back

Three deaths, a decade of drought and the Depression end six generations of Swanepoel stock farming. The family moved to Hansrivier and then into Beaufort West. Tradition has it that on the strength of the gold found on nearby Spreeufontein, the mineral rights were reserved out of the sale. Transport 7064.
