[5 Aug 2026 inbox] K.M. von OppellM, Government Land Surveyor, Church Buildings, Church Street, Oudtshoorn, 30 July 1912. 'Report on Red Lines: Subdivision of Farm Klein Valley - F.C. Kredouw - Prince Albert Division.' He records that beacons B to M were pointed out to him and all have an old appearance; that beacon A was shown only approximately and he found no trace of it, so he placed it on the line K-B and made KA agree with the distance furnished on THE DIAGRAM OF LOT B.5.17 GRANTED TO C. HATTINGH ON 15 APRIL 1841 - that is Klaarstroom No. 184's own quitrent folio, used as a control seventy years later. The owners also claimed beacon I, which he adopted, saying they could prove its existence for over 40 years and swore they had used the land within it.
