Burial ground CEM-039

Saairivier farm cemetery, Blaauw Draay 3 (second ground)

3 graves recorded · 1 identified in this project · 1904–1904

KEPT ON FAMILY EVIDENCE, NOT ON LAND. This project does not hold Blaauw Draay 3 and the ground lies about 11 km outside its nearest parcel. It is kept because all three stones are Botes and one of them is a Niehaus by birth - the two families of the Varsche Fontein and Vredendal burial grounds - and because all three died in 1904: a woman born 1862 and two young men born 1882 and 1883. No individual here matches anyone in the family tree on name and dates.

The photographs are eGGSA's and stay on their site; this project links to them and does not copy them. Their albums are expressly incomplete, so a name missing here is not evidence that person is not buried here.
