Navorsingsnotas

Klein Elandsfontein (Rondabel Ptn 7) transferred to him 16 May 1934.

TREE ANCHOR 29 Jul 2026: Gerolm Samuel MarincowitzH, 22 Jun 1870 - 30 Oct 1941, son of Nicholas James MarincowitzM and Catharina Maria OosthuizenL. THE TREE CARRIES HIM TWICE: (b. Kopjeskraal) and (b. Klaarstroom), same parents, same dates. Duplicate to merge.

[31 Jul 2026] MERGED PER-000521 into this row. PROVEN DUPLICATE, resolved on the FamilySearch id. Both rows carry GV47-3C7; an FS id names one person, so these are one person recorded twice. Created by the 31 Jul 2026 one-degree tree pull, which matched on tree id alone - and 255 model people carry no tree id, so any of them one hop from a tree-linked person was added again. Survivor is the pre-existing row; it carries the prose, sources and land links. Moved across: birth_edtf=1870-06-22; death_edtf=1941-10-30. DISAGREEMENTS, kept rather than resolved - the FamilySearch id settles these in one click: tree id: kept '', PER-000521 said ''. Retired ids kept for the trail: tree - a merged FamilySearch id still resolves, so it remains a usable door.

[3 Aug 2026] PROBABLE DUPLICATE of PER-000521 - same name, same 1870-1941 dates. Found while recording SRC-226, which names a GEROLM SAMUEL MARINCOWITZ buying Klein Elandsfontein on Rondabel on 16 May 1934, deed 3875. If these two rows are one man he is a Marincowitz holding ground on one of the five farms, which is worth getting right. Not merged here: ids are permanent and a merge needs a decision, not a guess. [TO VERIFY]

[10 Aug 2026, SRC-358] Baptism 18 September 1870 at Prince Albert.

[11 Aug 2026, MED-000022] HE MAY BE THE MAN IN THE DOUBLE PORTRAIT with Almero Jacobus Hitge OosthuizenL, whose verso names a "G. S. Marincowitz". He is the only live row here with exactly those initials, and a birth in 1870 fits a sitter in his late twenties in the later 1890s; the other G.S. in the model, PER-000189, would have been about forty-six. Initials and age together, which is not the same as a name match, but it is not proof either. [TO VERIFY]

These are working notes, not finished prose: they carry the reasoning, the corrections and the things still marked to verify. They are kept here so the page itself can read as what is known.

Found by breaks.py reading the model against itself, not written by hand, each one is a shape of missing record, not a fault in the data. The whole set is on the questions page.
