Die sitasie soos dit gegee is

THE VERSO carries one deduction line and it CORROBORATES the front. The label "Lot. a" is struck through and "178/1" written above it in a later hand; the extent is 9 morgen 167 square roods and the deed is given as 1858-23-45. That last figure is the same transfer already recorded from the front - deed No. 45 of 3 June 1858 - which fixes the reference format used on these versos as YEAR-VOLUME-NUMBER, and so lets the OTHER deduction on this farm be read: Lot C, renumbered 178/29, carries 1888-44-20, i.e. deed No. 20 of 1888 (SRC-225). Below the line, typed: "for subdivision of portion of this diagram Vide Gen. Plan F.7". A GENERAL PLAN is the instrument used to lay ground out into erven, so the parent farm carries at least two township layouts on its record - F.7 here, and K25 of 30.1.1901 on the verso of Portion 1 itself (SRC-224). Neither sheet is dated for F.7. [TO VERIFY]
