[SRC-304] THE FIRST STORM OF THIS FAMILY WITH A DEATH NOTICE. Eldest of the seven children of Hendrik Willem StormM (1797-1855) and Magdalena Frederica BotesM, and the notice names both parents outright, which makes it the first PRIMARY document tying this Storm family together. Born in the Cape Colony about 19 September 1822, computed from the age given, 56 years 5 months 5 days. LANDBOUWER. Married ANNA DOROTEA BOTES, a second Storm-Botes marriage in consecutive generations. THIRTEEN CHILDREN, four of age and nine minors in 1879. HE DIED IN THE ORANGE FREE STATE, on the farm GROENVONTEIN in the district of LADYBRAND. The family had left the Cape.
[SRC-307] HIS FIRST WIFE WAS HIS FIRST COUSIN. CATHARINA JACOBA MAGDALENA NIEHAUS, daughter of his father's sister Neeltje Johanna StormM, died at JAN WILLEMSFONTEIN on 23 December 1862 aged 44, leaving him six minor children. He then married Anna Dorotea BotesH, and the thirteen children on his own 1879 notice are the two families together. The eldest of the first six is HENDRIK WILLEM STORM, the junior of the 1855 membership roll.
