IF THAT READING IS RIGHT IT IS THE STRONGEST SINGLE PIECE OF EVIDENCE ON THE ORIGIN QUESTION, because it is the man's own statement about himself, made at the end of his life, rather than a clerk's entry in a muster index. It also lands in the same year as the baptism of his youngest son Jacobus (DOC-0067, 22 Nov 1722), which is worth noticing: a man makes a will when he thinks about what happens next. I HAVE NOT SEEN THIS DOCUMENT. Obtaining CJ 2601 from the Western Cape Archives is now the highest-value single lookup in the project. [TO VERIFY]
