Die sitasie soos dit gegee is
Entry 9 of 1755: "t kint OCKER / Vader Jacobus Oosthuijsen / Moeder Diena Carola Brits / Get: OCKER BRITS en JOHANNA BOTHA." THE CHILD IS BAPTISED SIMPLY "OCKER" - there is no Almero. The name Ockert comes from his mother's side, and the man it comes from, OCKER BRITS, is standing right there as a witness - the vernoemingspatroon and the witness list agreeing again. ALMERO IS NOT ADDED UNTIL 1786, by the Venetian. So "Ockert Almero" is a two-stage construction: a Brits grandfather plus a Pisani godfather, thirty-one years apart.
Woordeliks gehou. Hierdie projek weerspreek gepubliseerde genealogieë en stel 'n familie se eie mondelinge oorlewering reg, so elke bewering moet nagegaan kan word deur iemand wat nie in die vertrek was nie.
